Think Recycle
... is a new company which will be launched in mid July. Its purpose is to set up local initiatives to recycle various products for income generation, and recycle as much as possible.
Paul Scarlett, one of those behind the initiative, writes:
“We have contacted numerous retail outlets to collect their waste cardboard and people think its a fabulous idea.
Lancashire and Cumbria schools have also shown a big interest in the initiative, with a view to education/recycling and now have the opportunity to make some money for their school at the same time.
Initially,we are going to concentrate on recycling cardboard, aluminium pop and beer cans, magazines and waste newspapers but with a view to broadening our horizons with other products at a later date.
We are offering a free collection service with regular pickups weekly, fortnightly, monthly or just give us a call when the bags full ,and we will weigh the products on site.Every venue will be issued with large collection bags for each product,ie. one for magazines and one for newspapers etc.
We will be paying the following amounts for each commodity per Kilo...
Aluminium Cans......£0.20p per Kilo..... 1000Kg £200.00 (1 Tonne)
Magazines................£0.035 per Kilo...... 1000Kg £35.00 (1 Tonne)
Newspapers............£0.025 per Kilo.......1000Kg £25.00 (1 Tonne)
In an ideal world it would be great to see every church in the country using this initiative..we hope with a great deal of communication and hard work we can achieve this goal.”
