Who's Who.

There are currently over 60 Local Churches Together Groups meeting throughout Lancashire. Some are powerhouses of life and energy ; others are perhaps feeling in need of a rethink and a new start.

Wherever your Local Group feels it is, Debbie would love to come and spend time with you - to hear about and celebrate the good things that are happening, and to offer encouragement and support as you review your activities.

We hope that the news blog attached to this website will be a good place to share stories of what’s happening across the county - please let Debbie know of stories you’d like to share.

If your group hasn’t received any contact from Debbie since she came into post, that means she doesn’t have accurate contact details for your group! Please get in touch and help her in the ongoing task of updating her records!

And if you’d like to have details of  existing groups, or register the need for a new group to start, please don’t hesitate to get in  touch at

LEPs  are covenanted relationships in which more than one denomination has come together in a local situation. They come in many shapes and sizes. Some are single, multi-denominational congregations; some retain separate denominational congregations, but work and worship closely together; some share buildings or other resources; some operate in non-parochial settings, such as chaplaincies. We currently have 23 LEPs operating within the county, and new enquiries are coming in  all the time.

CTL’s Sponsoring Body is responsible for offering support  and review to LEPs, and for advising the parent denominations in their joint oversight of them.

If you’d like to know more about how LEPs work, or what might be possible in your own situation, please contact the Chair of the Sponsoring Body, the Revd Mike Hartley  ( blackburndeo@googlemail.com)

Where it all happens...

What keeps Churches Together alive in Lancashire is what’s happening on the ground at local level. Wherever Christians of different denominations and traditions are finding ways to work, worship and serve their communities together, then we are sharing the Gospel through unity in mission.

Two key ways in which CTL seeks to foster and support these aims is through our sponsorship of Local Ecumenical Partnerships, and Local Churches Together Groups.

But Remember. . .

As the agency that seeks to help the churches of the county work together at every level, CTL is not just for ecumenical enthusiasts, nor even just for CT groups and LEPs. We are here as a resource for ALL Lancashire’s churches, and we’d love to hear from you if we can support or resource you in any way.
