A Day Conference looking at ministry and mission amongst older people
The Methodist Lancashire District are working in cooperation with CTL partners to organise this training day for all who seek to build the Kingdom amongst the older generation! The planned programme looks excellent, and contributors will include Norman Crittchell, Graham Hawley & Clare Dalpra. More information and publicity available soon - Pass the word around and get the date in your diary now!
SING CHRISTMAS!
This is a date to get in your diaries now!
On TUESDAY DECEMBER 21ST2010, 7-8PM, Churches Together in Lancashire will be working with BBC Radio Lancashire to broadcast an interactive Carol Service. Our hope is that churches/ Churches Together Groups / LEPs across the county will identify non church venues - pubs, clubs, residential homes etc – who would welcome the opportunity to participate and host the service as it’s being broadcast live. We will provide downloadable publicity, resources and carol sheets – all you need is a radio and enough amplification to make it heard!
Sing Christmas has been an annual event in Leicestershire now for several years, and is widely hailed as a great opportunity for celebration and mission, with over 100 venues registered as participating. If you’d like to have a look at how it’s worked there, take a look at www.singchristmas.org.uk
This is a wonderful opportunity to make or strengthen church links with the local community, to draw people together around the Christmas story, and to be part of a Lancashire wide event.
More details will follow soon – for now, please do plan SING CHRISTMAS into your Christmas worship programme, and start thinking about where to hold your local event!
